           Soil ph for Veggies

Testing your soil pH

The soil pH is very important for a healthy Garden and can be a huge issue in our soil here in W.A.

When you are next preparing your Veggie patch, draw a mud map of your Garden and take samples from different areas.

The samples should be taken from around 150mm deep and by noting down each pH test on your map.

By doing this, you will be able to see where you need to adjust the soil or what you are able to plant depending on your plants pH requirements.

You can purchase a pH tester from most hardware or Garden nursery's for around $20, this could save you a lot of money, maximise growth and reduce failures.

If it is lower than the required pH for your crop, it is too acidic and you need to add some Lime, Rock Dust or Dolomite to raise it.

If it is higher than the required pH, it is too Alkaline and you will need to use some Sulphur to lower it.

When adjusting your soils, always do it gradually and test it weekly till you have the desired pH zone.👍🇦🇺️
